Michael Murphy left Mullaghbawn in South Armagh for Liverpool at the start of the 20th century. It was here he married Mary Pender. This is the story of their nine daughters and one son, their children and grandchildren. "Cead Mille Failte"

Laura Murphy was up in Aberdeen visiting daughter Rita, and she stopped by to see her daughter's mare and foal. 94 years-young Laura, was eyeing up the horses looking for a possible National Winner! Watch out Aintree!

John Murphy Completes 855km Charity Bike Ride

Finally Reaching Phuket!



A well-earned drink!

The charity event "Spice Roads Royal British Legion", held by the Royal British Legion (RBL) & Spice Roads Bike Club, embarked on an ambitious bicycle race of 855 KM from Bangkok to Phuket. The race began October the 21th and finished 28th October. It was to raise 500,000 bhat for both RBL and the Thai War Veterans Organisation. The team of 10 ranges in age from 64 year-old British ex-serviceman Tony Margetts to 17 year-old Thai Nattapongpan. The team have been in training for 9 months and are required to ride over 100km (62 miles) every day. John Cormac Murphy(Bob) who is a resident of Bangkok, is son of Cormac Murphy (well known curry & beer-taster), after completing the race, was heard to say, "Where's the bar?" He is seen 2nd from left on first picture, pink ribbons and having a drink in Phuket.

Congratulations to Cecilia Murphy (eldest daughter of Eamon & Penny) and James McNelly who were married on the 17th September 2011 at St. Etheldreda's RC Church in London. Eamon & Penny have now seen 2 of their five children married this year. Michael was married in February. The wonderful St. Etheldreda's, is the oldest Catholic Church in England and was a wonderful setting for the wedding, and the church choir were terrific. Following the marriage ceremony, the wedding party were ferried to the magnificient Skinner's Hall in 2 London buses! It was a wonderful evening, and after a great meal, entertaining and heartfelt speeches, we were treated to a professional Irish Dancing.

Many thanks to Eamon and Penny who made it a memorable day & night!
