Mary will be buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Flushing , New York, Monday October 1, 1pm. Respecting her wishes, her sendoff will be simple: cousin John Daly will read Psalm 124, Jim Herlihy will give the eulogy and Desmond will read a tribute.

Mary was a double first cousin to our Mothers and Uncle Mike - a special relationship akin to a sister from a gene pool perspective. She was a dear friend and support to my Mother in dark moments when my father passed. As children growing up in New York, she and her husband Bill were always present to celebrate family occasions and cheer us on. She was our "Murphy" Aunt !

A pioneer in many ways, she came to America when she was 14 and pursued a corporate career. One of AT&T's first female MBA's in 1960, she was a role model for many young women in business.

When the sun has set at 6pm in England on Monday, October 1 please toast this remarkable lady as we lay her to rest next to her beloved husband Bill Johnston at 1pm in New York.

Please contact Jim Herlihy at jamespherlihy@gmail for more details.
