Rolling Back the Years on Mother's Day!

Mrs. Laura Murphy was photographed at the home of her daughter Susan & husband Ben on Mother's Day this month. What a wonderful picture! and Sue tells me she also had a wonderful day beginning with Holy Mass at the local parish, followed by half a dozen pints of the "dark-stuff" at her favourite pub! ;¬)

God Bless Her!

And a big Thank You to Sue and Ben from all the family for looking after her, and keeping her looking so well!

Cheers

Cormac

It's 1955 and Number Thirteen!

This photograph appeared recently in the Crosby Herald who were reviewing a book on Liverpool. It shows Laura Murphy holding her baby, Eugene - her 13th child, in 1955 at Park House, Waterloo. Two more children were to follow: Therese and John Carmel.
Eldest daughters Cecilia and Mary are holding twins Dolores and Mary. The twins were the children lof Laura's sister Cecilia (Big Cis) who died shortly after giving birth to them. My mother gladly took them in to help her sister's family out.
From Laura's right, clockwise: Laura, Jim, Frank, dad Mikey holding Danny, Mary holding twin Mary, Cis holding twin Dolores, Patrick, Cormac, Susan, Rita, Michael & Eamon.
